Andrew Garnett

Project Manager – Carbon Transport & Storage

Andrew Garnett has more than 24 years experience in the petroleum and energy industries and has worked both in Australia and oil and gas provinces throughout the world including Russia, Turkey, Nigeria, Libya and Yemen in addition to the North Sea and Atlantic Margin provinces of north-west Europe.

Beginning his career as a seismologist supervising crews in places as remote as the Niger Delta, he later joined Shell International working in Exploration and Appraisal (E&A) as well as later within the global Well Engineering function.

Previous roles include leading an internal, global Project Consultancy Group for Shell International and E&A, Asia Pacific Portfolio Manager for Shell International, based in The Hague.  From 2003 until 2008, he was a Project Consultant to Shell specialising in the areas of Acid Gas Injection and Carbon Capture and Storage and later, Projects and Operations Manager with Schlumberger Carbon Services in Brisbane.

He is a member of Australia's National Carbon Storage Taskforce (Commercial Working Group and Exploration Incentives Group) as well as the Society of Petroleum Engineers SPE; Project Management Institute, PMI; and IEA GHG R&D: Risk Assessment Network.
