Queensland Government

ZeroGen Pty Ltd is a company incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 and is wholly owned by the Queensland State Government. ClimateSmart 2050 is the Queensland Government's flagship response to climate change and contains the Government's energy strategy.

It outlines Queensland's commitment to the contribution it will make to achieving a national greenhouse gas emissions reduction target of 60 per cent below 2000 levels by 2050. This includes a long term strategy to secure clean energy for the State based on investing in accelerating the development and deployment of low emission coal technologies in a portfolio of renewable energy and energy efficiency targets.

Australian Coal Association Low Emission Technologies Ltd (ACALET)

The Coal21 Fund is a world-first industry fund -  initiated by the Australian Coal Association, - that is providing more than $1 billion over a ten year period to support research, development and demonstration of low emissions coal technologies to combat climate change.

Mitsubishi Corporation (MC)

Japan-based Mitsubishi consists of more than 200 independent companies which share the Mitsubishi brand and trademark. A trading and investment company, Mitsubishi Corporation (MC) is a core company of the Mitsubishi Group.

MC has a diverse portfolio across many sectors, such as Machinery (power generation, transportation systems, emissions reduction technology), Metals (coal, iron ore, steel, pipelines), Chemicals, Living Essentials and Innovation (CO2 emissions rights).

MC has gained significant investments in some of Australia's largest coal mining and LNG operations for several decades. More recently, MC has focused on environmental areas including low emissions technology, CO2 emissions trading and CO2 capture and storage in Australia.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI)

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries has been one of the largest private firms in Japan manufacturing ships, heavy machinery, aeroplanes and railroad cars. Mitsubishi Power Systems (MPS), a subsidiary company of MHI, is a world-leader in the design, manufacture, installation and service of commercial and industrial power systems. MPS has been developing and improving IGCC technology for many years and currently operates a 250MW IGCC demonstration plant in Nakoso, Japan.

MHI will be the exclusive supplier and constructor of the IGCC power plant and capture technology, which includes providing the gasifier and turbine.
